This Shit is Hard

Blog post 2. Great things come in twos. WWII. portal 2. Feet. I can't think of more 2 things and this is cringe af.
So, what "shit is hard other than my cock game dev is up there? I have been trying to get into game development on and off for like 2-3 years and each time didn't last long. The first time I stumbled upon brakeys video on my youtube recommended and was like "I can make a video game ey?" so I followed a few tutorials and got a working fps controller and gave up after that for idk what reason. The 2nd time I played some game and thought "I want to make a game again" and I don't think I even got far with that (maybe like a day). The third time (current time) I watched Jayne Dev on the noclip crew channel and thought "he’s new to this too. If he can do it, I can do it." this has lasted from June till now (on and off), you would probably think there was a lot of progress made here but nope! All i had done was a fps movement, working doors, and climbing ladders. Looking back on that, if you ask me how to do any of that from scratch I would not know where to start coding-wise.
As you know in past attempts that I gave up working on my projects, it's not different this time. This time I gave it a fair attempt in my opinion but something stumped me. I am struggling with creating a dialogue system with some features that I would like, there are good tutorials such as the Semag Games tutorial and that got me pretty for but when it came to animating the letters I had no clue where to go, this is leading me to just give it up again.
I honestly think I'm not cut out for this type of thing, I would very much like to get good at this shit. I have been told that I need to stick at it and in time I will get better but idk how to keep at it, I'm not that creative of a person, and most times when I follow a tutorial it only leaves me at a very basic stage where I'm meant to add on top of the feature.
Im thinking about trying out other engines as kinda a way to step away from unity since 1: unity fucking sucks, 2: unity fucking sucks. Godot seems really cool but small community so there are fewer tutorials, unity is really the big scary brother of the game dev scene, unreal being a war veteran grandpa. I have also thought about trying out XNA/Monogame or FNA, looked at that more in-depth and NOPE that is too hard and I am baby
